INTRODUCTION
A. Last week we discussed the meaning of faith 1. Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (NKJ) 2. Faith is composed of two elements a. what one believes b. the action that results from the belief
B. Today I want to talk about faith as it relates specifically to salvation 1. What is the faith that saves? 2. Eternity depends on how we answer that question
I. DIFFERENT KINDS OF FAITH
A. People can have "little faith" 1. Matt 6:30 ""Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? (NKJ) 2. These people did not believe God would take care of them 3. They were consumed by worry about their needs 4. They did not put God first
B. People can have weak faith 1. Rom 14:1 Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. (NKJ) 2. These people were confused about what they could and could not do 3. They did not understand their freedom in Christ 4. They bound things needlessly
C. People can have incomplete faith 1. John 12:42 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; (NKJ) 2. Here some of the rulers believed on Jesus, but not to the point of doing anything about it
